Blackstone Valley Community Health Care accepts most major Rhode Island insurance plans including Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, and United Healthcare. We also accept RIte Care, RIte Share, Medicaid, & Medicare members.
The Patient Enrollment and Engagement Specialists provide opportunities for community residents who lack access to healthcare, health insurance, plus other services such as: Food Assistance Program, Child Care Program, Cash Assistance Program, Elderly and Disability Medicaid Program. Please note we can assist with applying but do not approve or deny applications.

BVCHC uses a sliding fee scale to offer services for qualified patients. Sliding fee discounts are eligible for patients with and without insurance based on income guidelines. Get more information on our sliding fee scale.
- No patient is denied based on their ability to pay
- You may be qualified for discounted services or a monthly payment plan
- You can apply for the sliding for the sliding fee discount with your income and family size.
- Our sliding fee offers a nominal fee for those who qualify based on federal guidelines
The following information will help you identify what you need to provide in order to participate in the Sliding Fee Program. Please download, print, and complete the Application below and return with Proof of Income to any one of our BVCHC offices.
Did you know that as of July 1, 2022, ALL income eligible kids (under age 19) in Rhode island can enroll in RIte Care (Medicaid) health insurance coverage, regardless of immigration status, including children who are undocumented and DACA recipients.
